Self discipline is vital when it comes to achieving success. Ability may take you to the top, but it takes character and discipline to keep you there. Being determined and focused to stick to your plans and goals greatly contributes towards success, but if you yield to life’s temptations you will fall on the wayside and getting back on track may prove to be a daunting task.
Many in the course of life give up and forget the grave consequences that are bound to befall them and their dreams. It is imperative to realize that getting back on track may be a tall order than you may have imagined. Always remember that it is easier to prevent failure than to remedy the implications. This is a tip that is necessary for a fruitful and joyous living.
It is only those who have courage to go ahead and occupy their place in society that impact positively on people around them. Therefore, connect with people that bring out the best in you and introduce you to yourself. It is advisable to have a mentor to whom you can be accountable to. There is a fuel in each one of us that a mentor should be able to ignite.
If you can discover the worth of living then you are an inspired person and you will have unveiled the secret to achievement in life. If you seek to impact the society and your life, then be inspired before you inspire.
“There are two kinds of people in life, those we celebrate and those we tolerate. If you do not have a competitive advantage, do not compete.” Dr. Welsh.
Your insight about having a mentor to hold you accountable is especially accurate. In our studies of self-discipline and performance we've seen that people's results go up by as much as 30% just from this one idea alone.
ReplyDeleteI love that you have identified self-discipline as a key attribute of success. I couldn't agree more. So many times we look for the "easy way" and it's the suffering that produces the character that we need to achieve our goals. Suffering, Self-Discipline, and Sacrifice are pivotal traits that are missing from many of our conversations and values today.
Thank you for sharing.
See you in the "stairwell"
