Self esteem is all about how you feel about yourself. It can be established in an individual from childhood. There are occasions when parents fail to build high esteem in their children and it is encouraging to learn that one can enhance how they feel about themselves even in adulthood. It may be difficult at first but with time and commitment, one gradually gets used to the idea.


To build your self esteem, you will need to enrich your knowledge base so that you do not fear having conversations with people who seem to know more than you do. This means that you will have to read widely and attend conferences where you will have a chance to interact with people and gauge your confidence.

Dressing smartly, observing personal hygiene and practicing etiquette will also boost one’s self esteem. We basically feel good about ourselves when we look good. This is the reason why we try to make a first impression at an interview by dressing smartly.


It is also advisable to read motivational books as they encourage one to continue to pursue their goal of achieving high self esteem. In some cases, these books introduce a role model that would be ideal to emulate. Through examples, motivational materials may give someone ideas on how to be more confident.


A journey of many miles does begin with a step thus it is important to note that self esteem cannot be built in a day. One needs to constantly evaluate the progress they have made in having high self esteem and set higher targets until they are comfortable with their outlook.

Regardless of your present status and condition, you can accomplish anything with positive thinking. There is power that is released through positive thinking and once it is released, it will always work for you. Positive thinking acts to enhance your abilities and virtues. Nothing is impossible to him that believes.
