At this time and age and with all this pressure from every corner of our lives be it at school for learners, the work place, at home and social gatherings its hard to be who we really are anymore. We veil our true personalities so as to fit within our social circles, while deep inside we feel miserable.
It is unbelievably sad how in most our lives we tend to prove to others how good we are. We struggle with our emotions, fore gore our dreams; throw away the things that make us happy just not to disappoint others.
I recently met a former school mate from the same high school and she always wanted to be a professional model only to tell me that she studied medicine because her dad is a doctor and he wanted her to become a doctor too. I went a head to ask if she loved what she does and the answer was,” …well I can manage.” I am sure this is the predicament with most of us.
If this sounds familiar, then for once in your life do the things that you love to do that is if it is possible and that make you happy and allow yourself to be who you really are inside. Life is precious, short, and we only get to live once.
Take time everyday alone and meditate, reach deep within your soul and always be honest with yourself. It’s the best gift you can ever award yourself. Again, life is short; make the most of it, wisely.
